Sick & Tired? Don't Have A Cow, Just Blame One

The Blue Print
on Agriculture:

Like Meat? Sure. Like disease and morbidly obese Americans? Didn’t think so. With the rapidly growing number of obese Americans, it is of the upmost importance that the Senate Agriculture Committee work to make a bill that is in the best interest of both the American consumer and the animal being consumed.

Generally, republications believe that the government and the farms themselves are not responsible for Americans who like to eat fatty foods. Sure, they aren’t putting the food in Americans mouths, but it doesn’t help that farms are working to make the fattiest, most unhealthy options for the American people.
Some feel the American people are being bamboozled! Swindled! Deprived of the best options! The farms may not make the choice for Americans but they aren’t offering any good options to choose.

The Democrats on the Agriculture Committee feel that each side needs to come together and make a bill not for the interest of factory farms but for the interest of the American consumer. The Secretary of Agriculture released evidence that the H1N1 virus and the Avian Flu have been linked to factory farms. Does this mean consumers are ingesting chemicals and disease so that someone else can make more money?

Even though republicans are concerned for factory farmers’ rights, a bill that pushes for more regulation on these farms, better inspections and more humane treatment of the animals is what democrats feel should be considered as well. The government as a whole works to promote and maintain the well-being of the people. Everyone has a right to the pursuit of happiness, and healthy people are essentially happy people.
